This crunchy butter is made with black sesame seeds, peanuts, a touch of brown sugar, and some crunchy breadcrumbs for a lightly sweet paste that you can use on anything! About the maker:
Ashley Xie and Hedy Yu are childhood friends and daughters of immigrants who grew up in the San Gabriel Valley in Southern California. And together, they founded Rooted Fare. Growing up, Ashley and Hedy bonded over the challenges of navigating life as second-generation Chinese Americans, celebrating their heritage, language and food at home but sometimes finding themselves hiding or rejecting these traditions to fit in at school. They were inspired by these experiences to create something that is both Chinese and American, marrying together the flavors and ingredients of their childhood and their lived experiences from growing up in America.
