 This is a full-bodied Indonesian dry curry with an explosive depth of flavor. Rendang is one of the most famous and well-known dishes from Indonesia. Homiah's Spice Kit takes care of the labor-intensive work of preparing this complex blend, so you can enjoy a delicious, authentic bowl of rendang. This kit is a little spicy, but you can tone it down with extra coconut milk or kick it up with additional minced chili peppers.

To prepare it, simply sauté one pound of your protein of choice–like beef chicken, tofu, or mixed mushrooms and vegetables–and pour one pouch of the spice kit on top. Add coconut milk and then simmer, covered, until done. Serve it over rice or grains.

About the maker: Homiah means "to live the good life", expressing love and care, often by cooking for someone. Homiah got its start in the 1940s in Penang, where Michelle Tew's grandmother was a famous cook.
